With over 26 years in the hair care industry as a
renowned stylist, educator and trendsetter, Cheryl’s
innovative approach has been awarded and recognized in
Sri Lanka and in some parts of the world. Her
cutting-edge work has graced both print and television,
including features and appearances in Newspapers in Sri
Lanka and TV Shows. Cheryl the hairstylist has become a
Sri Lankan household name. She is sought after by many
Sri Lankan top models and women in the high society.
Cheryl became a special Creative Artist working
exclusively with renowned professional hair colour and
hair care products, participating in education and
training shows and seminars, and consulting with the
marketing teams of various world renowned products.
Born in Sri Lanka, in 1964, to Justice Theodore and
Sheila Moonamale, Cheryl began her career at Ramani
Fernando Salons at the young age of 18. At 21 she was
appointed to Head a branch of the Ramani Fernando Salons
at the Taj Samudra Hotel and went on to be the head of
the branch at the Hilton Hotel, and also as Training
Manager of the Ramani Fernando Academy.
After 18 years with Ramani Fernando Salons, in the year
1999 she started her very own Academy for Hair Care in
Colombo namely the CG Academy. A few years later, in
2001 she teamed up with a few of her outstanding
students and established the Headmasters Salon, which
has grown successfully. A few years later Cheryl
relocated to a beautiful salon in Rosmead Place.
With over twenty-five years industrial experience, along
with ten years of teaching, Cheryl is able to
personalise every style she does. She has received
extensive comprehensive training and has enjoyed working
on a wide range of editorials and photo shoots,
including the Hairdresser’s Journals, Vogue Magazine
(India) and Bridal Magazines.
Able to work with hair extensions and added hair, Cheryl
holds Hairdressing qualifications from AQF Level III (RPL)
Sheila Baxter Training Centre Melbourne, External
Verifier City & Guilds UK, Rogercraig Academy (Hong
Kong), The Rever Academy (Hong Kong), Vidal Sasson
Academy (London) and The Asia Pacific Federation of
Private Hair Dressing School (Hong Kong). She has also
achieved a full Certificate in Education, and regularly
attends a variety of training courses by various
Academies.
She has recently been accredited by TAFE Sri Lanka to
deliver AQF Level III in Hairdressing (WRH 30106) on
behalf of TAFE South Australia.
Over the years she has gone on to win awards for
Hairstyling and Make-up in countries such as Kuala
Lumpur, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea,
Singapore Hong Kong and Japan, brining pride to her
country Sri Lanka.
